New Retailer Spring 2011 Catalog
The latest version of the Ty catalog contains all the newest product lines and introductions: Beanie Ballz, Beanie Eraserz, Wild Wild Best, and the latest Beanie Boos. I was particularly impressed that many styles could be ordered in quantities as little as 4-6 (depending on the product).

New Walgreens Exclusives-January 2011
A new Beanie Boo keyclip is appearing at Walgreen’s pharmacies in special Valentine’s Day form. You can now pick up a Cookie the dog keyclip sporting pink eyes, clip, and attached heart. This is the fourth Walgreens exclusive Ty product so far in 2011. A picture was posted on the Ty Facebook page on Jan 15, 2011. The three new Elvis bears appeared within days of the New Year and Cookie started to appear mid-Jan. All three Elvis beanies are all named “Your Teddy Bear” and play a song when you squeeze them. Each has a tiny red dot sticker on its chest that reads: “Squeeze Me!” Additionally, all three have an identical tush tag and hang tag.
Notice that the tag has no mention of this piece being a Walgreen’s Exclusive.
Here are the three Walgreen’s 2011 Elvis Exclusives:
Your Teddy Bear reads: “Created Exclusively for Walgreens” inside the tag.
Mayo Clinic Offers Exclusive “Jack the Helping Dog” Beanie Baby-December 24, 2010
Mayo Clinic and Ty Inc have teamed up to offer an exclusive Beanie Baby. The beanie design is based on a real-life therapy dog and a recently published children’s book. The beanie and corresponding book may be purchased at select satellite retail shops and at the Mayo Clinic Online Store. “Jack” sell for $8.95 and the book sells for $
12.95.
Here’s the text of the Press Release featured on the Mayo Clinic Bookstore page (12-23-10):
“Dr. Jack” is a miniature pinscher who is part of the animal-assisted therapy program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and the inspiration for this new authentic Ty Beanie Baby plush toy.
Dr. Jack has helped more than 2,000 patients at Mayo Clinic, with physical activity, rehabilitation and speech therapy. He sees about 15 patients a day when he is on the job at Mayo.
“Why do we offer animal-assisted therapy to Mayo Clinic patients? Because it works!” says Brent Bauer, M.D., Complementary and Integrative Medicine.”Of course, almost every patient ‘feels’ better after a visit by a dog like Jack. But scientific studies have shown this type of therapy can reduce pain in children, improve outcomes in adults hospitalized with heart failure, and reduce medication use in elderly patients.”
Dr. Jack has been featured on television and websites, and in many publications. Dr. Jack’s book, “Let’s Visit Mayo Clinic With Dr. Jack the Helping Dog,” was first introduced May 2010 (now available on our bookstore online).
When Ty Warner, founder of Ty Inc., noticed the book in a hospital gift shop, he was inspired to develop a custom-designed Dr. Jack Beanie Baby, with all proceeds to support further medical education, research and patient care at Mayo Clinic.
This new plush toy captures Dr. Jack’s friendly presence, including his red service vest and Mayo Clinic dog tag. Commissioned exclusively for Mayo Clinic, the Dr. Jack Beanie Baby can be purchased only at Mayo Clinic Bookstore online, or at Mayo-affiliated retail stores in Rochester, Florida and Arizona campuses.
