Welcome to BeanieSource.com. I created this site to fill a unique niche in the online beanie collector community. In my years of collecting, my great joy has been researching the history and background of various products, promotions, and discoveries. Let’s face it, there are well over 4,000-known Ty products and each has a unique story to tell…some more than others. Often times news gets reported, but once all the pieces of the story unravel over time, its rare to find a source that thoroughly “connects all the dots.” I hope to do precisely that.
With so many stories to tell, I don’t foresee a shortage to write about in the near future. I hope to post a steady stream of stories each month.
I didn’t create this site to compete with other sites. I feel each site provides its own unique and useful niche. I hope to collaborate with other sites/collectors and encourage followers to send messages to suggest articles to write about, add to what I have already written, and correct me when I make a mistake. If you’d like to contribute to the blog, let me know and I’ll post your articles (subject to editing). Also, please send us any news, updates, or discoveries you make. If you have a rare piece—share a picture.
I have been collecting Ty products and collectibles for 14 years. In that time, I have amassed nearly 3,000 items and it continues to grow each year. My favorite aspect of this hobby has focused on Ty promo items: commemoratives, specially tagged items, store exclusives, etc…I have additionally collected retailer items, literature, pins, cards, and McD related items. I also thoroughly enjoy bargain hunting for items on Ebay. I’ve found rare sports commemoratives with card and ticket for as little as .99cents and a 20 ft. McDs banner for $5.00.
